1. See Lake Tahoe by Helicopter: Lake Tahoe was meant to be seen from above, and the city offers breathtaking helicopter rides, which last for approximately 45 minutes. 5. Go Whitewater Rafting on the Truckee: The Truckee River offers exciting whitewater rafting adventures for your summer vacation. Plan an excursion with Tributary Whitewater Tours, and enjoy a three-hour trip down the river, through the High Sierra desert, along Class 2 and Class 3 rapids. Rafting tours are suitable for ages 7 and up, and reservations are required. Remember to wear a swimsuit, fast drying shorts and shirts and a pair of old sneakers or water shoes.
