5 Tips for Finding Mexico Cruise Deals
Are you dreaming of taking a relaxing cruise south of the border? Whether you want to savor mouthwatering foods, unwind on the beach, trek through tropical jungles, or explore ancient ruins, Mexico offers a diversity of opportunities for fun, relaxation, and adventure. Cruising is an excellent way to explore the exotic culture and scenery of Mexico. Follow these 5 tips for finding Mexico cruise deals to sail the turquoise waters of Mexico on a budget.
1. Go during the Off Season
The off season in Mexico runs from the day after Easter till mid-December. You can find many Mexico cruise deals if you take a cruise during this time because prices drop anywhere from 20 to 50 percent. In July and August, however, prices revert back to high season rates because many people take their summer vacations in Mexico at this time. November is typically the best time to go on a Mexico cruise because the rainy season is over and the crowds are at a minimum, which means there are plenty of Mexico cruise deals available.
2. Take a Cruise in Baja California
There are many Mexico cruise deals available in the Baja California region. Although tourism infrastructure in the Baja California region isn’t as developed as it is in the Mayan Riviera, the area is popular with nature lovers and wildlife watchers. The Mayan Riviera is a popular cruising spot because of the abundance of beach towns and attractions in the area, but it is generally more expensive. You can find good deals on cruises in the Mayan Riviera, however, if you make your reservation at the last minute or travel during the off season.
3. Book at the Last Minute
You can often find great Mexico cruise deals by booking your cruise at the last minute. No cruise line wants their ships to depart with vacant cabins, so they offer discounts and incentives to attract more passengers. If you have a flexible schedule and don’t mind waiting till the last minute to find out where you’re going and when, booking a Mexico cruise at the last minute may be a good option.
4. Stay in an Interior Room
Interior rooms in Mexico cruise ships are more affordable than ocean view rooms or rooms with a balcony. You’ll probably only go to your room to sleep, anyway, so booking in an interior room is a great way to save money on your cruise without affecting your overall experience.
5. Shop through a Cruise Aggregator
Don’t book the first cruise deal you find. Shop around by using cruise aggregator sites. Large cruise aggregator sites have access to the lowest prices because they work in bulk. Moreover, they have a large selection of cruises to choose from, so you’re sure to find a deal that suits your preferences. Calling the cruise line directly and checking the prices they offer is also a good idea, but your best bet is to use the cruise line’s price as a starting point and continue research prices elsewhere. If you can’t find a better deal anywhere else, then negotiate with the cruise line to try and lower their price.
