Organized by the University of Nevada, the jazz fest draws musicians from across the country to participate in seminars and attend performances scheduled at venues throughout the city. The Reno River Festival occurs every May, when thousands of athletes participate in adrenaline-soaked activities such as whitewater rafting, kayaking and the Mad Mud Dash. Of course, the Reno Is Artown in July showcases the finest in arts and culture from around the country.

While last minute deals to Reno are fairly common, the earlier you book your vacation, the more money you will save. Many airfare and hotel packages are offered for Reno, but these deals should be booked at least one to two months prior to your vacation.
