Cathay Pacific is the flag carrier of Hong Kong. It is one of the world's most well respected airlines and is known for its superior customer service. In the annual Skytrax airlines quality survey, it is always among the top three airlines in the world in terms of overall customer satisfaction and quality. Cathay is one of only a few airlines to receive Skytrax's 5-star rating.

Cathay's food and in flight entertainment are the best in the industry. The carrier is one of the best choices (though not always cheapest) for trans-Pacific flights. It flies to numerous destinations around East Asia and its subsidiary, Dragonair, offers budget service to the same destinations and to less-visited destinations around the region from its Hong Kong hub.

Cathay Pacific operates larger, wide-body aircraft. Unlike other carriers, it does not have any Airbus A320s or Boeing 737s in its fleet. Cathay has reasonable packages both for vacations and for fliers who want to fly to multiple destinations in Asia. It offers 4 or 5 city regional package tickets that are a great deal for travelers who are exploring the region because they do not cost much more than the price of a trans-Pacific flight.
